Working with lawyers one of the common traits I have witnessed is that when they get bored, they tend to loose motivation. On a call with a client yesterday who is going through this, I suggested a couple of things. First, go out and see your favorite clients and catch up. Second, walk around the office and check in with some of your partners to see what they are working on. And third, take a stab at that next article you have been meaning to write. All three of these things have potential to bring in new files or work and might just give you that little pick up or boost you need.

Over time little drops of water accumulate and form a puddle; growing into a stream, flowing into a river and eventually creating a lake, rushing into the ocean. And that’s exactly how growing your practice or firm works. New habits take time, and with repetition create lasting and impactful results. It all starts with that first drop; or in your case, first step.
