Breaking the mold

Just started with another new client. She spent the first part of the call telling me what she didn’t want for her firm and practice. This lead us to determining what she did want. And it doesn’t look anything like the traditional law firm model. It doesn’t have to. More and more law firms are looking to break the mold and create something new, innovative, inclusive, and flexible. Yes I said law firm and flexible in the same sentence.

1st session notes

I had a first session with a new client today. She is in a very opportune situation. She is a junior partner at a boutique firm where the senior partner is retiring in three years. In between now and then she is at some point going to take parental leave. The senior partner is a willing participant in succession planning. The firm has done ‘Nothing’ to attract clients in the past. Most of the clients have come from the relationships the senior partner has built over the years.

Wow, so much opportunity lies ahead. She is open to ideas and eager to build the firm.
