The first step in becoming more targeted is becoming crystal clear on the types of clients you want to attract. That starts by identifying your current ‘ideal’ clients and what makes them tick.
Think about the types of clients you want more of, your ‘ideal clients’? They are likely the ones you enjoy working with the most. They are more sophisticated. They appreciate your advice and service. They pay on time, and they tell others about you. Consider what other qualities they may have and write them all down. I call this mapping your ideal clients.I always tell my clients if your going to go out there and market yourself, you might as well target your ideal clients. It takes the same amount of time and effort to attract a ‘C’ client as it does an ‘A’ client. You might as well be targeting your ‘A list’.
